William Leavy Architecture, consisting of partners William Leavy and Francisco Benavides, is a full-service Architectural and Design firm with a broad array of projects specializing in residential homes, apartments, additions & renovations, corporate & yacht interiors as well as EAP/FSP plans. Established in 2008, the firm has completed projects from Maine and Vermont to the Tri-State area.
Our mission is to provide clients with superior design, exceptional custom service, sustainable living ideas and to create the vision they have dreamed of into reality. Our attention to detail has allowed us to complete successful projects for our clients while our twenty plus years of experience in the Architectural field has provided us with the knowledge and tools to build beautiful projects that our clients cherish.
William Leavy
William has been training in the field of Architecture since he started with mechanical drawing classes in high school. He followed his love of Architecture and enrolled at New York Institute of Technology, School of Architecture and completed his five year Bachelor of Architecture degree in 1994. After practicing in Westchester County for a few short years, William captured a position at one of the premier firms in New York City, Brennan Beer Gorman/Brennan Beer Gorman Monk. While at BBG/BBGM William worked on many projects from hotels to corporate office fit outs, including the prestigious Waldorf Astoria, The Plaza and The Chrysler Building. After honing his skills at DiGiorgio Associates (a Boston based firm) with a myriad of project types, he joined a new studio with Stuart Narofsky. At N2 Design Group and later Narofsky Architecture, William's work was based mostly in high-end residential (both individual & multi-family) and corporate interior projects. In early 2006 William joined Zivkovic Connolly Architects PC, further pursuing the high end residential realm in Architecture. In 2009 William had the opportunity to work on the largest yacht built in America since the 1930's. The project, Cakewalk, is a mega-yacht with a total length of 281' and a beam just shy of 47'. This beautiful vessel was a crowned jewel for Derecktor Shipyards. William still has a passion for working in the yachting industry and has since completed further residential and commercial projects.
Francisco Benavides
Francisco received his Bachelor of Architecture degree from Cornell University, College of Architecture Art & Planning in 1996. Upon graduating, Francisco received broad training at a number of prestigious offices in New York including Peix & Marchetti Architects, Smiros & Smiros Architects, Fahey Design Build, and Zivkovic Connolly Architects. Francisco was project designer, project manager and project architect at these firms involved with a variety of different project types and associated budgets. While at Zivkovic Connolly Architects, Francisco met William and collaborated on multiple projects. This collaboration sponsored the formation of Poundesign Studio LLC in 2007. Poundesign Studio initially started as an independent architectural design collaborative and has worked more recently as an extension of William Leavy Architecture in a supportive and consultative role.
